A presentation of the basic legal system, its terminology, and principles as applied to professional and amateur sport. Emphasis is on identifying legal and ethical issues, the ramifications of those issues, and how managers in the sport industry can effectively and ethically address them. Current issues and dilemmas in the sport environment, organizational responsibility and professional ethics will be discussed. The course examines essential theories, concepts, models, and techniques to use in managing legal and ethical issues in sport. Prerequisite(s): SPMT 127 & Junior Standing
