Major concepts to be explored include: pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, dose-response relationships, and resistance. Other topics will discuss the chemistry, mechanism of action and pharmacologic action of drugs affecting the autonomic and central nervous systems, the cardiovascular, renal, and endocrine systems, pathogenic microbes, and cancer. Integrated lecture and lab. This course fulfills the Molecular and Cellular Biology area requirement in the Biology major.
