GNSCI 152 - Earth and Space Education Credits: (4) Physical Science is an introductory survey course that explores the structure and
function of our home planet as well as teaching methods and strategies for education majors. We will explore the atmosphere and weather, the oceans, as well as geology and paleontology. Key topics that will be investigated include carbon cycling and climate change, environmental aspects of fossil fuels and mining, depletion of fresh water, and the solar system. Emphasis is placed on how earth science processes have determined geo-historical events and human circumstances. This course satisfies Maryland
educational elementary certification requirements in Earth Science and serves as a basis for informed decision-making of land and resource use.
