HIGE 331 - Resisting States

Credits: (3)
The last 500 years have seen the invention and refinement of the modern nation-state, in all of its power and “glory”. But through years many have resisted, including Burmese, Algerians, and Czechs. This course examines their different forms of resistance and appraises their efficacy. Primary sources are principally employed, allowing us to hear the resisters in their own voices.
