BUSGE 445 - Global Business and Culture

Credits: (3)
This course introduces students to another country (such as India, China, Russia, etc.) with a focus on aspects of the history, culture, economy, political system, trade and investment climate, human rights record, and the nation’s relationship with the United States. The course also includes an examination of aspects of the country’s literature, popular culture, and current events. The goal is to provide a broad-based knowledge of the country and its significance to the United States and the globe. The course includes two parts: (1) a semester-long course on campus, and (2) a study tour in the country over Spring Break. Each part is designed to complement the other part. During the travel portion of the course, we will spend part of the trip touring sites of significance within the country, and the second half of the trip in joint classwork with students and faculty at a higher education institution within the country.
This course fulfills the Global Encounters requirement in the core.
