DATA 320 - Distributed Data Systems Credits: (3) This course presents alternative data storage and organization options to the traditional relational database systems (RDBMS). The course focus is on emerging trends related to distributed data systems. Topics will be selected from non-relational database architectures including data stores and data lakes, Map/Reduce, cloud computing, distributed data storage and retrieval including Data as a Service (DaaS), containerized architectures, and data organization and security. Prerequisite(s): CMSCI 125 Introduction to Computer Science II (3) or DATA 200 Introduction to Data Science (3) Spring, Odd Years
