PSGE 335 - Politics/Culture in Central America Credits: (3) This course is intended for two groups of students: (1) students with junior or senior standing from any major or (2) political science, international studies, or PPE majors with sophomore, junior, or senior standing. This course is an interdisciplinary exploration of economics, political culture, governance in contemporary CentralAmerica (with connections to Caribbean politics). The focus is on popular uprisings, grass roots initiatives, and contemporary problems of gangs and urban poverty. This course counts as a Global Encounters requirement in the Core Curriculum. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore status required.
