THEOL 200 - Encountering Christ: Foundations of Christian Theology Credits: (3) The course provides an introduction to theology through integrated historical, theological, and literary approaches to the Bible. Through this integrated approach, students will be able to gain a better understanding of: (1) the foundation of Catholic theology in the study of Christ and the church, (2) the deep connections between theological inquiry and our life, and (3) a theological sense of the undergraduate mission of the University (e.g., to understand the “Catholic vision of the person,” “to understand and to challenge or embrace the cultural forces operating on [us],” and to “cultivate a mature spiritual life… respect the dignity of other persons… see and seek to resolve the problems facing humanity”).
