MCYBR 510 - Technology Risk and Security for the Individual

Students will gain deeper understanding of risk specific to computer hardware, operating systems, and application programs. The course focuses on risk and security concerns for the individual computer, and the elevated risks that result to computer and data when the computer accesses the Internet. Topics include authentication; logging; auditing controls; virtualization; managing and securing data and files; safe online practices; role of security certificates; email protocols; common email hacking techniques; public key encryption. RMF (Risk Management Framework) elements covered include Categorization, Select, Implement, Assess, Authorize, and Monitor within the context of individual computers and online activity.
