MCYBR 500 - Introduction to Risk Management and Cybersecurity for a Digital World Credits: (3) Students will be introduced to the study of risk assessment and cybersecurity with an in-depth development of concepts behind “cybersecurity” and “risk”. Course develops understanding for the integration between computer architecture, operating systems and application programs. In-depth coverage of network concepts including common network topologies; historical and technological foundations of the Internet; risks associated with connectivity are included. Additional topics include security concepts related to computer, network, and data; role of security models and architecture in risk mitigation; security categories; common threat and vulnerability challenges; state and federal laws related to cybersecurity; basic steps to secure privacy, data, and computer; risk assessment; risk mitigation; security and risk planning.
