ACCT 414 - Communication Skills for Forensic Accountants

This course will focus on building verbal and written skills applicable to forensic accountants and used in forensic accounting engagements. Topics will include proper interviewing techniques, report writing, providing expert witness services at deposition and trial, supervising a team of forensic accountants, and communications and interactions of the forensic accountant with the legal and law enforcement community. The course will also examine the various laws and legal issues associated with conducting fraud investigations and other forensic accounting services. Students will perform mock interviews, deposition and trial testimony, and submit a written forensic report based on a contemporary case study. Prerequisite(s): ACCT 311-ACCT 312 (Spring)
