ACCT 413 - Introduction to Forensic Data Analytics and Electronic Evidence

This course examines the use of the computer and technology by both the perpetrators of fraud and other crimes along with how forensic accountants use the computer and technology as a means to detect and prosecute fraud and abuse. Students will lean and utilize modern forensic tools, techniques and computer-based applications used by forensic accountants in fraud investigations and other forensic work. Students will work with case studies and related data sets using certain forensic applications to uncover potential fraudulent transactions and information to aid in forensic investigations. A general working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computers is required. Prerequisite(s): ACCT 311 -ACCT 312
