A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting prepares the graduate for a career in a broad range of organizational positions requiring accounting skills. Students with an accounting major will be eligible to sit for the Maryland CPA exam.
To receive a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, students must complete a minimum of 120 credit hours. Students must also earn a major GPA of 2.0, and a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
NOTE: Accounting majors are encouraged to pursue a second area of study. For example, an accounting major may pursue a major or minor in forensic accounting, gain fluency in a foreign language, earn a communication major or minor, or a major or minor in criminal justice.
