COMM 323 - Writing For, With, and Against AI

This course examines how writing and rhetoric shape the design, use, and governance of AI systems. Students treat prompts, system/platform instructions, and persona design as forms of technical communication while engaging both machine learning concepts and relevant ethical frameworks (alignment, risk, environmental impact). Through projects in annotation, prompt engineering, persona building, and critical media analysis, students produce, critique, and evaluate AI-mediated texts.
