Conservatism as a philosophy owes its intellectual formation to a host of disciplinary influences, each to be explored in turn: theology, political theory, economic, policy analysis, and sociological. Throughout, a focus on the human person and a quest for community will guide the attempt to understand the conservative critique of modernism in its various incarnations.
