SOC 136 - Martin Luther King Jr.

Credits: (3)
This course follows the biography of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to learn about race, leadership, inequality, and how to make change.  We will examine the times he lived in, his family, friends, faith and influences in search of who he really was - both as a symbol and as a human being. What were the obstacles and opponents he faced, and which resources did he bring to bear on them?  What were his accomplishments and failures?  What is his relevance today?  No prerequisite!
