PSCI 125 - AI, Media, and Politics Credits: (3) What happens to democracy when algorithms know us better than we know ourselves? How will the U.S.-China rivalry unfold in an AI-powered world? This course dives into the most urgent and exciting questions at the intersection of artificial intelligence, media, and politics. From deepfakes and digital surveillance to AI-generated propaganda and automated policymaking, students will explore how new technologies are reshaping political power, public opinion, and global conflict. Along the way, we will ask how political science itself is being transformed by tools like ChatGPT and machine learning. Through provocative readings, real-world case studies, and hands-on discussion, this course equips students to think critically, creatively, and courageously about the future of politics in the age of AI.
