PHIL 112 - Philosophy of Star Wars

This course will use the philosophical ideas and themes in the films-including “The Force” and the religious order of the Jedi-to examine various philosophical theories relating to metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, religion, mysticism, and mythology. The films will serve as our texts which will be “read” in conjunction with select philosophical readings. The course provides an excellent introduction to philosophy and critical thinking as well as an opportunity to watch and discuss films that have had an immense cultural impact.
