HIST 110 - Controversies in Sports History Credits: (3) This course will take an historical approach to controversial moments in sports history in order to help students practice the five Cs of historical thinking: context, causality, contingency, complexity, and change over time. Students will be required to research topics that have generated disagreement within the sports world and beyond. Students will be expected to debate extensively. Topics will include incidents of cheating, violence, institutional corruption, sports and geopolitics, and activism by athletes.
