HP 101 - Honors Symposium Enrichment

Credits: (1)
All sections of FYS 101 deal with fundamental questions and problems of human life in a pre- and trans-disciplinary manner. As an additional resource for honor students, this 1-credit course (offered at no charge to the student) will introduce honor students to a variety of professors who routinely teach honors sections, and, more importantly, give them more discipline-specific windows into ideas that matter and problems facing humanity. Every week, students will encounter a short lecture by a professor on an idea, text, author, question, problem, or proof that made a vital impact on their intellect, either personally or professionally. Students will then have time to discuss the material with the professor. Students will also receive enriched instruction on research and information literacy, and will close the course with a presentation on an idea, text, author, question, problem, or proof that has similarly affected them over the course of the semester.
