SPAN 327 - Contemporary Latin America Credits: (3) This course is designed to introduce students to the history of contemporary Latin America, focusing on the region’s recent past. We will examine how Latin America has evolved as a region with a shared history, while recognizing the unique characteristics of each country. The course will trace the region’s development from the struggles for independence to the present day. We will also explore specific case studies that highlight the differences among countries and the unique trajectories they have followed. Please note that this course is conducted entirely in Spanish. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 202
