BIOL 435 - Cancer Biology

Utilizes lecture, experimentation and experimental/clinical scenarios to examine both the clinical and molecular aspects of tumorigenesis. Topics of discussion may include cancer development and progression, oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, cell cycle control, apoptosis, angiogenesis, cell migration/metastasis, and the immune response to cancer. Lecture and lab. This course fulfills the Molecular and Cellular area requirement in the Biology major. Students must earn a C- or higher in all prerequisite courses. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 110, BIOL 111, BIOL 221, CHEM 101, CHEM 102, and CHEM 201. $115 Fee Applies Spring, even years.
