CMGE 301 - India through ‘Bollywood’

This course will examine the people and culture of India through its cinema. Among other topics, it will trace India’s historical and contemporary society, demonstrates ethnic and religious diversity, and analyzes critical social issues. Through classic, iconic, and current Indian films, students learn about the role of cinema in Indian society and explore socio-cultural similarities among other countries on the Indian subcontinent.
