A minimum of 120 credit hours is required for a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with a Concentration in Theatre.

Major Requirements


39 Credits:

Senior Project


All majors are required to present a senior project during the final semester that displays aspects of the theoretical and practical knowledge gained through their course of study. The senior project requires enrollment in  FATH 402 Senior Project Tutorial (3)  . Guidelines for the senior project must be obtained from the department chair or a departmental advisor in the first semester of the senior year.

Electives


31 to 33 Credits

“Elective” refers to various Theatre and Visual and Performing Arts courses, as well as to elective courses offered outside of the department. Suggested electives can include courses in Communications, English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, and History, based on the talents and skills of the student, as well as through consultation with the student’s academic advisor. Students are also strongly urged to investigate Internship possibilities, either in the summer or as a semester-long assignment. The Career Center catalogs a wide variety or arts-based internships.

Notes


To earn a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with a Concentration in Theatre, students must complete a minimum of 120 credit hours. Students must also earn a major GPA of 2.0, and a cumulative GPA of 2.0.

* The above sequence can be used for Theatre Majors with a focus on Performance or Technical Theatre. 

**Students interested in studying Technical Theatre should plan to take the following electives-FATH 108 Stagecraft (3) , FATH 208 Stage Design (3) , and FATH 308 Technical Production (3) .
