A minimum of 120 credit hours is required for the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.

The Interdisciplinary Studies program at the Mount provides a customized educational experience for students interested in combining two interrelated academic areas into one program of study.  Students must work with their academic advisor to develop a plan and submit it for approval to the Department Chair/Program Directors of each major field of study, and then to the Associate Provost for final approval.  The program may be a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, depending on the content, subject to approval by the Associate Provost.

39 or more Credits:

Major requirements will be determined by working with the student’s academic advisor, and are subject to approval from the Department Chair/Program Directors from each area of study as well as the Associate Provost.  The major requirements must include at least 33 credits from two interrelated areas, and at least 18 of those credits must be upper-level (300- or 400-level) courses, and at least 18 credits of the major requirements must be completed at the Mount.

Electives


The number of Elective Credits will be determined by the number of credits the student needs in addition to Core requirements and major requirements, to reach a total of 120 credits. 

Notes


To earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, students must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
