HIST 361 - The French Revolution

This course explores the French Revolution of 1789, considering its origins, dynamic, and consequences for France, Europe, and our Western heritage. The course considers a wide variety of primary sources from Old Regime Enlightenment treatises to scandalous revolutionary pamphlets attacking Marie Antoinette, while introducing students to the rich historiographical debates concerning the origins and outcomes of the Revolution. Prerequisite(s): (HIST 202 )
